Sham, the little girl from Aleppo, is a success story in itself. She survived a tragic accident that took her father’s life and left her with shrapnel in her head. But Sham didn’t give up. At the age of 7, she read more than 100 books and managed to beat 22.7 million participants from 44 countries to win the title of champion of the sixth season. Sham stood confidently before the judging panel, delivering literary and poetic texts fluently, impressing everyone. This little girl didn’t just win; she showed us that hope is born from pain.
Hatim, from Salamiya in the Hama countryside, is a child with a big spirit and a dream to become a famous poet. He read 400 books and participated in the eighth season, where he outshined 28 million students from 50 countries to win first place. Hatim also gave a speech on motherhood, expressing himself with love and eloquence that left the audience applauding. Youssef Ibrahim: The Hero Who Did Not Give Up (7 Years)
Youssef, the blind child from Homs, is a shining example of perseverance and success. He started his reading journey through audiobooks, and with the support of his family, he read about 70 books. Although he didn’t reach the finals in the first season, giving up was never an option for Youssef. He kept pushing forward, and in the second season, he won first place in the category for people with disabilities in Syria. Today, Youssef is ready to represent Syria in the UAE, and he has a grand dream of raising his country’s flag with pride. Here’s Youssef’s heartwarming story:
Lana Al-Tawil, from Aleppo, is a young girl with a deep passion for reading and remarkable determination. Among more than half a million students across Syria, Lana proved her excellence, achieving the title of Syria’s champion in the eighth season. Her enthusiasm and ambition have helped shine a spotlight on Aleppo as a continuous source of creativity and talent. Today, Lana proudly represents Syria and is opening the door for a new generation of exceptional readers.
