1. Ayam Shamiya (1992)

2. Bab Al-Hara (2006 – 2017)

The most famous Shami drama series in the Arab world that has become a part of the Arab viewer’s memory. The performances by the Syrian artists and the star Samer Al-Masri as the character of Abu Shihab made it a part of every home.

3. Layali Al-Salhiya (2004)

Good and evil are in constant conflict in “Layali Al Salhiya”. The work focuses on the concept of “honesty” and how people’s lives can change because of it. The character “Al Makhraz” played by Bassam Kousa was one of the most prominent roles in the series.

4. Al-Khawali (2000)

“Al-Khawali” is one of the works that combined entertainment and deep messages. The series depicted the struggle of the people of Damascus against oppression and corruption. The character of “Nassar,” played by Bassam Kousa, symbolized courage.

6. Awlad Al-Qaymariyah (2008)

A social drama that explores the stories of two neighboring neighborhoods and the complex relationships between their inhabitants. The series was full of life details that showcase the authenticity of Damascus and the morals of its people. The series stars Abbas Al-Nouri.

7. Hammam Al-Qishani (1994)

“Hammam Al-Qishani” is a Shami tale set in a neighborhood of the same name, focusing on social and political issues in Damascus of the past. The series was directed by Hani Al-Romani and written by Diab Eid. It achieved great success and received an award at the Syrian Drama Appreciation Festival.

8. Beit Jeddi (2008)

The series depicts the events of the Al-Midan neighborhood, one of the oldest neighborhoods in Damascus, during the 1930s. It is about a family living in one house and experiencing intriguing issues. Starring: Bassam Kousa, Naji Jaber, Wafaa Mosalli
